Alwana Womble, 88, of Seymour passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2018 in Wichita Falls.
Services will be held Monday, July 9, 2018 at 10:00 a.m., at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Ryan Ford officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.
Alwana was born May 29, 1930 in Littlefield, Texas to Clifford and Jewel Smith Heard. She was a graduate of Seymour High School and attended Draughon's Business College in Wichita Falls. She married Bill Womble on October 2, 1949 in Seymour. The couple lived in the Metroplex, moving back to Seymour in 1971, where they farmed her family's property. She was a member of the Seymour Hospital Auxiliary (Pink Ladies) and the First United Methodist Church. Alwana loved to work in her yard and flowerbeds. She was an extremely meticulous housekeeper. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Jewel Heard, her husband, Bill Womble who passed away February 10, 2013 and 2 brothers, Floyd Heard and Gerald Heard.
She is survived by 3 daughters, Barbara Harrison and husband, Johnny of Roswell, NM, Beverly Gray and husband, Gil of Seymour and Brenda Coltrain and husband, Daniel of Flower Mound; 8 grandchildren, Erin Henry and husband, Brent, Adam Gray and fiancé, Daisha Smith, Tai Killian and husband, Chris, Casey Coltrain and Kelsi Miller, Colby Coltrain and fiancé, Gianna Aycock, Caden Coltrain, Lisa Harrison and fiancé, Kent McNelly and Daniel Harrison; 9 great grandchildren, Joshua, Kris, Tyler, Salem, Scout, Charli, Cy, Avery and Rylee; 1 great great grandchild, Torrea; 2 brothers, Lloyd Heard and Dale Heard, both of Olney.
The family suggests memorials to Hospice of Wichita Falls or the Seymour Hospital Auxiliary.
Visitation will be from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.
