Amaya Renee Fernandez, 8, of Seymour, passed away Friday, March 28, 2014 in Haskell.

Services will be held Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at 3:00 p.m., at the First Baptist Church with Dr. David Warren, officiating. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.

Amaya was born December 17, 2005 in Seymour to Marcus and Crystal Torrez Fernandez. She was in the 2 ^nd grade at Seymour Elementary School and attended the First Christian Church in Seymour. Amaya enjoyed coloring and drawing, but she loved to dance. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Meribel Fernandez.

She is survived by her parents, Marcus Fernandez of Haskell and Crystal Fernandez of Seymour; a sister, D estini Fernandez of Seymour; a brother, Nathan Fernandez of Seymour; her grandparents, R obert and Conchita Torrez of Seymour; 2 great grandmothers, Gloria Leal and Maria Torrez both of Seymour; 2 uncles, Robert Torrez, Jr. of Seymour and Ricky Torrez and wife, Amy of Ft. Carson, Colorado;

1 aunt, Sharon Gonzales of Wink, Texas; and numerous great aunts, uncles and cousins .
