Arnold D Winn

Arnold Duaine Winn, 90, of Red Springs, passed away Tueday, October 23, 2018 in Red Springs.

Services will be held Friday, October 26, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Red Springs Baptist Church with Sid Winn and Rev. Cody Craig officiating. Burial will be in the Henson Cemetery in Red Springs under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.

Arnold was born June 22, 1928 in Altus, Oklahoma to N.C. and Lola Neismith Winn. He attended school in the Richland Community and in Seymour. Arnold married Senna Jane Shumate on June 19, 1948 in Holliday and were still sweethearts after 70 years together. He worked for the Texas Department of Transportation for 42 years, retiring in 1990. Arnold also farmed most of his life. He was a former Director of the Red Springs Coop Gin and a member of the Red Springs Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School class. Most importantly, Arnold loved children and they loved him. He always said, "Never mistreat a child". He was preceded in death by his parents, N.C. and Lola Winn; a brother, Theron Winn and a sister, Joy Neithercutt.

He is survived by his wife, Senna Winn of Red Springs; a daughter, Carlene Gulley and husband, Don of Wichita Falls; 3 sons, Pete Winn and wife, Sue of Seymour, Clarence Winn and wife, Linda of Wichita Falls and Kyle Winn and wife Dee of Seymour; 2 brothers, C.L. Winn of Decatur and Wayne Winn of Seymour; 5 grandchildren, Jeremy Winn, Dustin Winn, Katie Fortenberry, Sara Pribyla and Emily Riordan and 10 great grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to the Red Springs Baptist Church.

Visitation will be from 6:30 until 8:00 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
