Ben Loyd Lemons, a veteran of the Vietnam War and long-time resident of Seymour, passed away Saturday, November 20, 2021 in Lubbock at the age of 80.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the Riverview Cemetery with Benny Archer officiating, under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.
Loyd was born on February 9, 1941 in Seymour to Ben Clark and Arlis Hutchinson Lemons. He worked in Construction most of his life. Loyd was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Arlis Lemons and his siblings, Clifford, Dorothy, Zella and Kenneth.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Rita Gay Lemons of Lubbock; his son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Bridget Lemons of Lubbock; grandson, Staff Sergeant Kaleb Loyd Lemons of Remstein, Germany; a granddaughter, Jacque Lynn Saucedo of Shaw, South Carolina and two great granddaughters, Sara and Violet Saucedo. There are so many other extended family and friends, too many to mention, that Loyd loved and enjoyed life with through the years.
Visitation will be from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
