Bobby L Powell

Bobby Lee Powell passed away Sunday, July 10, 2016 in The Woodlands.

Services will be held Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at 10:00 a.m., at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Rod Payne officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.

Bobby was born April 13, 1936 in Red Springs to Robert L. and Annie Sudderth Powell. He attended High School in Red Springs, where he qualified for the State Track meet in the 440 yard dash his Sophomore year. He served in the U.S. Army as a Paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Division. Bobby married Patricia Rhame in New Mexico in 1955. He retired from Keebler and lived in Wichita Falls for more than 30 years, before re-locating to Conroe in 2015. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and golfer. Bobby was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia on December 15, 2015.

He is survived by a daughter, Cindy Powell and J.R. of Merkel; a son, Steve Powell and wife, Malinda of Montgomery; 3 grandchildren, Elizabeth Rice and husband, Kevin, Ashley Brooks and Aaron Powell and wife, Karina; and 8 great grandchildren, Natalea, Hailey, Emberly, Devon, Ciara, Ryan and Luke.

Visitation is from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
