Charles Lyndel Lambeth, 76, of Goree, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2014 in Wichita Falls.
Graveside services were held Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 10:00 a.m., in the Goree Cemetery with Rev. Sonny Smart, officiating, under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.
Lyndel was born September 21, 1937 in Hefner to John and Effie Hicks Lambeth. He attended school in Hefner. Lyndel married Dulah Thompson on June 21, 1969 in Goree. She preceded him in death on September 19, 2004. He worked for the Goree Coop Gin for many years before going to work for Knox County, driving a maintainer. He attended the Goree Baptist Church and served on the Munday Water Board. Lyndel was also preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers; 1 sister; and a great grandson.
Survivors include 3 daughters, Cynthia VanSchalkwyk and Connie Woods, both of Seymour; and Linda Poteet of Goree; 4 sons, James Harding of Amarillo; Roy Don Harding of Burkburnett; Laurence Harding of Stephenville; and Ronald Harding of Munday; a brother, John Lloyd "Sandy" Lambeth, Jr. of Munday; a sister, Immogene Land of Post; 14 grandchildren and 3 great granddaughters.
The family suggests memorials to the Ben Richey Boys Ranch, P.O. Box 6839, Abilene, Texas 79608.
