Donnie Lee Coody

Don Coody, 90 of Seymour, passed away Saturday, October 30, 2021 in Seymour.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the SPJST Cemetery with Benny Archer officiating under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.

Don was born February 10, 1931 on the homestead in Benjamin to Walter and Ottie Faye Winningham Coody.  He attended Munday schools and volunteered for the US Navy during the Korean War.  While in the service, Don learned to box and to be an electrician.  After discharging from the Navy, he worked as a Constable in Knox County, briefly.  He worked the majority of his life as an electrician.  Don married Mary Jane Tomanek in Munday on February 1, 1969.  Don was very proud of his grandbabies.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Ottie Faye Coody; 2 brothers, Walter Paul Coody and Pete Coody and a sister, Margie Herring.

He is survived by his wife, Jane Coody of Seymour; a daughter, Donna Coody of Brownwood; a brother, Ronald Coody of Farmers Branch; 3 granddaughters, Alex Fain, Hailey Coody and Briana Coody and a great granddaughter, Chevy Fain.
