Dorothy Stafford, 80, of Seymour, passed away Thursday, September 4, 2014 in Seymour.
Services will be held Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 10:00 a.m., at the First Baptist Church with Dr. David Warren, officiating. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.

Dorothy was born August 23, 1934 in Eufala, Oklahoma to Sherman and Georgia Maxfield Beagles. She attended school in Wichita Falls and earned her L.V.N. certification through Vernon Regional Jr. College, and was 1 class away from completing classes for her Registered Nurse degree. Dorothy worked at the Seymour Hospital, the Abilene State School and retired from the Denton State School. Nursing was her gift and she passed that on to several of her grandchildren. Dorothy married Carlton Lewis in September 19, 1951. He passed away in 1976. She married Jack Stafford in October 2, 1976 and he died in May of 2005. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Sherman and Georgia Beagles; a son, Euguene Lewis; a sister, Juanita Delay; and 3 brothers, Leonard Beagles, Herbert Beagles and James Beagles.

She is survived by 3 daughters, Myra Moss and husband, Glen of Seymour, Cathy Woolbright and husband, Roy of Cresson and Debbie Gillispie of Mississippi; 1 son, Rusty Stafford and wife, Lorie of Seymour; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home.
