Douglas Wayne Lambeth, 83, of Seymour, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2016 in Archer County.
Services will be Monday, November 21, 2016 at 10:00 a.m., at the First Baptist Church with Dr. David Warren officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.
Doug was born October 22, 1933 in Goree to Vernis and Winnie Jetton Lambeth. He was a graduate of Goree High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Doug married Barbara McCord on June 6, 1964 in Wichita Falls. He farmed and worked as an assistant maintenance supervisor with the Texas Department of Transportation. After retirement from the Highway Department he worked for WalMart in Wichita Falls, where he was employed for the last 12 years. Doug was a member of the First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernis and Winnie Lambeth; a granddaughter, Brooklynn Andrews and a sister, Linda Joyce Hendon, who died at the age of 25, along with her 4 children.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Lambeth of Seymour; 2 sons, Barron Lambeth and wife, Tera of New Albany, Indiana and Brant Lambeth and wife, Stephanie of DeSoto, Texas; a daughter, Jeanie Wilson and husband, Mark of Springtown; 2 brothers, Bobby Lambeth of Midland and Don Lambeth of Merkel; a sister, Rhonda Moore of Tulsa; and 4 grandchildren, Jimmy Lambeth, Kelsie Jones, Mitchell Wilson and Madison Wilson.
Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.
