Eddie F. Ford, 95, of Seymour passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2016, in Seymour, Texas.
Services will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2016, at 2:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church with Dr. David Warren officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery under the direction of Archer Funeral Home, Seymour, Texas.
Eddie was born on November 14, 1921, in Paris, Texas, to Eddie Cruth and Daisy Ola Kennedy Ford. Eddie was raised in Bomarton, Texas and graduated from Bomarton High School in 1940. He married Lillian Moore, who preceded him in death on September 16, 1990. In 1943, the military called Eddie to active duty. There he served as an auto mechanic and was assigned to the 368th Ordinance Maintenance Company of Operations Anti Air Craft Unit in the European Theatre. After leaving the Army in 1946, Eddie resided in California where he worked for the Shell Corporation as a diesel mechanic until his retirement in 1980. Upon retirement, Eddie settled in Seymour, Texas, and became a member of the First Baptist Church. On March 16, 1996, Eddie and Peggy Fancher Jordan were married in a private family ceremony in Buffalo Gap, Texas.
Eddie will always be remembered for his love of being an excellent caregiver, his love for baking (especially donuts and pies), his love for the Bible, and his masterful woodworking skills to the point of being an artist. Eddie also enjoyed attending events involving his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Eddie is survived by his wife, Peggy Ford of Seymour; two sons-Gene Jordan and wife (Patsy) of Iowa Park and Terry Jordan and wife (Susan) of Midland; two sisters-Joyce Rasberry and husband (James) and Ruby Davis-all of Seagoville; a brother-Bobby Ford and wife (Sandra); four grandchildren: LeAnn Scharbrough and husband (Jacen); Jody Jordan and wife (Vanessa); Sandi Lindsey and husband (Jared); and Terra Gearn and husband (Tanner); four great grandchildren: Kolton, Jaden, Callan, and Hayes; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter (Shonda Jordan on February 11, 2001), two brothers: Lowell Ford and Luvois Ford, and one sister (Janice Ford).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Seymour Cemetery Association or a charity of choice.
