Gilda G Ivey

Gilda Gray Jernigan Ivey, 91, of Seymour, passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2018 in Seymour.

Services will be held Friday, July 6, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Methodist Church with Rev. Ryan Ford, officiating. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.

Gilda was born May 23, 1927 in Seymour to Herbert Elam and Alice Louise Seydler Gray. She was a graduate of Seymour High School and attended Hardin College in Wichita Falls. Gilda married Orvel Lee Jernigan in 1945. He passed away in 1971. She married R.E. Ivey in May of 1982. Gilda was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Jana Lee Ellington and 2 brothers, H.E. Gray and John Gray.

She is survived by her husband, R.E. Ivey of Seymour; a son, Gary Jernigan and wife, Donna of Big Spring; 2 step-children; 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to the First United Methodist Church, 1025 W. California, Seymour, Texas 76380.

Visitation will be from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
