Helen H Quisenberry

March 20, 1925 — August 7, 2014

Helen Hart Quisenberry, 89, of Seymour, Texas, passed from this life on Monday, August 04, 2014. Services were held Thursday, August 7, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. , at the First Baptist Church of Seymour, Rev. Steve Sullwold officiating. Burial was in the Masonic Cemetery of Seymour, under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.

Â

Helen was born March 20, 1925, in Eastland, the daughter of Ada Pauline and Walter Norman Hart. The family moved to Seymour in 1929, with Walter assuming the position of manager of Texas Electric Service Company. She attended Seymour Schools until 1940 when she married Roy Graham Quisenberry, Jr. and graduated from A&M Consolidated High School in College Station. While there, she was employed in the Industrial Education Department at Texas A&M. Following Roy's graduation from A&M, they moved to Fort Worth where Helen was employed by Ranch Style Beans and later, Texas Electric. Her final move was to Seymour, with the family, operating Quisenberry Super Service and engaging in farming and ranching with Helen working for Charles Foyt Tax Service for several years.

Â

Helen was a member of the Harmony Club of Seymour and a long time member of the First Baptist Church. She was an accomplished stained glass artist with examples of her work in homes and buildings in the North Texas area. Helen enjoyed more than anything, taking care of her family and doing the things necessary to support her husband and son in the operation of the farming and ranching business. She was the epitome of the steadfast West Texas wife and mother. She had many friends and all who knew her were well aware that Helen took great care to maintain her natural beauty in her dress and grooming, while not being pretentious in any way.

Â

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 67 years as well as her sister, Marguerite, and is survived by her son, Judge Graham Quisenberry of Aledo, and her grandson, Clinton, of Fort Worth.
