Henrietta Josephine Hertel Styles passed away on Monday, February 12, 2024 in the Seymour hospital.
A visitation with the family is scheduled for 6:00 p.m., Thursday. February 15, 2024 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Seymour. A Catholic rosary will follow at 7:30 pm at the church.
Funeral services are at 10:00am at the Sacred Heart Catholic church in Seymour on Friday, February 16, 2024 with Reverend Bose Jujuvarapu, HGN and Deacon Jim Novak officiating. Interment will be at the Saint Joseph's Cemetery in Rhineland, TX following the funeral services under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.
Henrietta was born on July 13, 1941 to WC (Bill) and Elizabeth Hertel, a pioneer family in Knox County, TX. She attended St Joseph's Elementary School in Rhineland and graduated Valedictorian of the Academy of Mary Immaculate in Wichita Falls, TX. She also attended Midwestern University and Vernon Regional Junior College.
Henrietta married James Edward Styles on June 20, 1959 and were just shy of celebrating their 65th anniversary. They called Seymour, TX their home where they farmed the land for a living. She was also a travel agent who took very good care of her customers, but her main occupation was being “wife of a farmer”. She was the cook, house cleaner, parts delivery person, combine driver (NOT A TRUCK DRIVER!) and gate opener. It was a job that she loved dearly. Henrietta was very active in her community by serving as a member and officer of the Seymour Kitchen Koaches, the Seymour PTA, the Sacred Heart Altar Society and the Tuesday Afternoon Bridge Club. She was very active with the Baylor County 4-H, the Seymour FFA Chapter and the Baylor County Junior Livestock Show for many years.
Preceding her in death were her parents and her brother Bill (WH) Hertel.
Henrietta is survived by her husband James Styles of Seymour, TX; her children Chris Styles (Darla) of Muenster, TX; Jeff Styles (Delesa) of Fredericksburg, TX; and Cindy Coltharp (Randy) of Seymour, TX. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, Josh Styles (Julieanne) of Ballground. GA, Dr Lindsey Tijerina (Nathan) of Nada, TX, Randi Leigh Curling (Michael) of Roswell, GA, Patrick Styles (Maddie) of Bowie, MD, Blayne Styles (Destiny) of Muenster, TX; Zayne Styles (Leah) of Muenster, TX, Tyler Anderle (Sadie) of Muenster, TX, Trey Anderle of Muenster, TX; Trent Anderle of Muenster, TX, Jarrett Styles (Jill) of Zurich, Switzerland, Peyton Silva (Matt) of Houston, TX, Addison Styles of Austin, TX, Corbin Styles of San Antonio, TX, Cody Coltharp (Lacy) of Holliday, TX, Cory Coltharp (Tamie) of Lubbock, TX, Caleb Coltharp of Wichita Falls, TX and Callan Coltharp (Tatum) of Lakeside City, TX.
Henrietta was blessed with 24 great grandchildren: Caden Coltharp, Hadley Coltharp, Krosston Coltharp, Kache Coltharp, Paislee Coltharp, Piper Coltharp, Hollyn Coltharp, Ledger Coltharp, Lawson Coltharp, Nico Styles. Margot Silva, Ben Silva, Ryder Styles, Parker Styles, Lila Tijerina, Newt Tijerina, Rhett Tijerina, Avery Curling, Emmy Curling, Collins (Coco) Curling, Oaklynn Styles, Ryker Styles, Gage Styles and Archie Anderle. A 25th great grandchild is expected to be born on February 29th of this year. She is also survived by her cousins Ida Jo Owens and Mike Jungman and several nieces and nephews.
