Jerry Ann Weckar Crawford

The most amazing and loving woman went home to be with family, friends and the Lord, Jerry Ann Weckar Crawford. She passed away on Monday, May 20, 2024 at 9:46 a.m. at home with family in Seymour, Texas.

Jerry Ann was born in Seymour to Arvel Richard and Frances Irene Edwards Weckar. She had two brothers, Gary Lynn and Richard Niell Weckar. She attended Seymour schools and left school early to marry the love of her life, James William Crawford, Sr., on May 8, 1959.

Jerry Ann worked along side of her husband in the custom harvesting business. Later in life, together, they opened J’s Barbeque business in Seymour. People would come from all around Texas and out-of-state to enjoy the their barbeque and coleslaw. She loved to visit with all of the customers especially sharing the Lord with them.

Her heart was with the women’s ministry. Whether they were young women or adult women, she wanted them to know they were loved and wanted by God.

Jerry and James had four children - Debra Lynn, Tammy Jo, James William, and Kimberly Ann. Debra and Kimberly went to be with the Lord very early in their lives.

She was a member of the Baylor County Cowboy Church. Every Sunday she could be at church, she got there early to pray over each chair in the place. That was part of her calling.

There wasn’t anything that she couldn’t do. Traveling with her was always fun. She loved traveling to Alabama to see her family and enjoying the family reunion. Help taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, made her heart full of joy!

She was the last of her family to go home. We can only imagine what it must be like today with her family and children there to greet her. Healed and happy.

Those awaiting her arrival were her parents, brothers, husband, and children.

She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Jo Billingsley; her son, James William Crawford, Jr. (Miranda) of Weatherford, Texas; two granddaughters - Ashley Elizabeth Crawford Davila (Chris), and Krista Renee Reed; two grandsons - Joshua William and Luke William; great-grandchildren - Johnathon, Benjamin, Eli, Zoey, Nathaniel, Nikolai, Fletcher Jay, Wyatt, Colt and Sawyer; and many wonderful family and friends.

There will be a celebration held at the Calvary Baptist Church located at 501 E Miller St, Seymour. The services will began at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2024 with Pastor Russell Roberts officiating. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.
