James Borden “Jimmy” Allbritton, Jr., 68 of Seymour passed from this life on Sunday, January 2, 2022 in Seymour Hospital.
Services will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church with Dr. David Warren officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.
Jimmy was born on November 9, 1953 in Seymour to James and Emma Gruben Allbritton. He graduated from Seymour High School in 1972 and attended Texas Tech University where he studied architectural design. While in college, he was employed by Maxie Lumber in Lubbock.
Jimmy and his brother, Tommy, were co-owners of Tip Top Cleaners where the Allbritton family has served Seymour for seventy-two years. He was a former board member of the Seymour Chamber of Commerce and a member of the First Baptist Church. His passion continued to be architectural design and he helped to draft house plans for people in Seymour for many years. At his core, Jimmy had a servant’s heart. He was preceded in death by his father, James Allbritton.
Jimmy is survived by a fiancé JoAnn Gruben, his Mother Emma Allbritton, two sisters Susan DeWolfe and Janet and Bill Burch; one brother Tommy and Jeannie Allbritton; seven nieces and nephews, Brian Schiefley, Steven and Elizabeth Schiefley, Glenn and Jan Allbritton, Katie and Clint Moore, Lauren and Joe Busch, Elizabeth and Eric Abrahamsen and Pam and Jason Crouch and eight great nieces and nephews Lexi, Tyler and Leah Allbritton, Josiah and Benjamin Bush, and Isabella, Vivenne and Trevor Abrahamsen.
The family suggests memorials to the Fannin County Food Pantry, 1022 FM 273, Bonham, Texas 75418.
Visitation will be from 5:30 until 6:30 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
