Seymour

Jimmy Wayne Donnell, 82, of Seymour, passed away on Monday, December 23, 2024 in Wichita Falls.

Services will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church with Joe Mac Petit officiating. Burial will follow in the Bomarton Cemetery under the direction of Archer Funeral Home, Seymour, Texas.

Jimmy was born on February 23, 1942 in Seymour to P.W. and Hazel Peacock Donnell and grew up in all the surrounding areas. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He married Adrina Wicker in 1963 in Seymour. Jimmy was a hard working father that dedicated the majority of his life working in power line construction. He and his family spent many hours out on the water at the lake and he was the “jack of all trades” when everything broke down. He loved Christmas and enjoyed playing many rounds of 42 with his family and telling his wild and rambunctious military stories to his grandchildren. Jimmy also loved scoping out the casinos for the best seat on a blackjack table and he particularly enjoyed a cold drink and closing down the tables into his 80s.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Porter Donnell and Hazel Donnell; his siblings, David Donnell, Janet Mayers, Janice Haynes, Gary Donnell and Mike Donnell, as well as his great grandson, Tate Donnell.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Adrina Wicker Donnell of Seymour; one living sister, Vickie and Ken Cheatham; his children, Charles and Becky Donnell of Wichita Falls, Troy Donnell of Seymour, Chad and Melissa Donnell of Lindsay, Texas, Brad and Sharonda Donnell of Seymour and Sabrina and Russell Rivers of Seymour; his grandchildren, Chazeley and Tyler Kinnibrugh of Seymour, Tarrington and Sara Rivers of Seymour, Abby Donnell of Iowa Park, Bradyn and Audrey Donnell of Olney, Hanna and Landon Studer of Seymour, Evan and Kaylee Donnell of Petrolia and Kolby Donnell and Baylee of Lubbock and a growing family with 15 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
