John Harvey Starr, 79, of Seymour, passed away Sunday, October 30, 2016 in Seymour.

Memorial Services will be held Friday, November 4, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church with Dr. David Warren, officiating. A visitation and celebration will be held Thursday evening from 6:30 until 7:30 p.m., in the Fellowship Hall of the First Baptist Church. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.

John was born January 3, 1937 in Plainview to Budd and Sue Giddens Starr. He was a graduate of Plainview High School and received his Bachelor's Degree from McMurry University. John worked as a project manager in the appliance division at General Electric. He also worked as a grocery clerk in Seymour for 10 years. John married Judy Church on July 25, 1987 in Durant, Oklahoma. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Starr of Seymour; 2 sons, David Starr and wife, LeeAnn of Aubrey and Michael Starr of Kingsport, TN; 1 daughter, Debbie Crain of Grapevine; 3 step-sons, Charles Davis and wife, Tammy of Lubbock, Jimmy Davis of Fleming Island, FL and Christopher Davis of Yukon, OK; 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
