Kenny Shipman, 65, of Seymour, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2021 in Bedford.
The family will be honoring him with a Celebration of Life at his favorite place, his farm at 5798 CR 210 in Seymour on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 2:00 p.m., under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.
Kenny was born on April 4, 1955 in Odessa to Orgie and Joan Rhame Shipman. He was a graduate of Seymour High School and received his Bachelor’s of Business Administration degree from Midwestern State University. Kenny worked as a CPA for over 30 years and enjoyed getting to take care of his clients, developing lifelong friendships along the way. He and Pam Skinner eloped to Munday, Texas and were married on October 4, 1975. Kenny loved his family, friends and his farm. He loved his family deeply. He loved his kids and always made them feel like they were the apple of his eye. You wouldn’t have thought he could love anyone more until he became a Pop with the birth of his first grandson. All five of his grandchildren were his pride and joy. He would talk about them to everyone he met, everywhere he went. Kenny could be found most mornings at T.J.’s. He was so proud of the farm he and Pam built over these last 16 years. It was his favorite place to be.
He is survived by his wife, Pam Shipman of Seymour; a son, Kevin Shipman and wife Nicole of Burleson; a daughter, Kelli Doley and husband, Robert of Wichita Falls; a brother, Mike Shipman and wife, Jeni of Plano; 5 grandchildren, Noah, Eli, Colby, Caylin and Koyt; his mother-in-law, Mary Skinner of Wichita Falls; a niece, Megan Palacios and husband, Jared; a nephew, Jonathon Shipman and numerous cousins.
The family suggests memorials to the BCJLSA, P.O. Box 6, Seymour, Texas 76380 or the Whiteside Museum, Seymour, Texas 76380
