Larry W Stroud

Larry Wayne Stroud, age 69, of Throckmorton, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 in Throckmorton.

Services will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at 10:00 a.m., at the First Baptist Church in Throckmorton with Rev. Pete Parker officiating. Burial will follow in the Rafter R Cemetery under the direction of Archer Funeral Home, Seymour, Texas.

Larry was born March 6, 1947 in Olney, Texas to Duard Lee and Dorothy Lee Whitaker Stroud. He attended Woodson High School and went on to receive his peace officer license in Abilene. He married Nancy Ruth Everett on March 22, 1966 in Throckmorton. Together they had 3 sons, Robert Wayne, Larry Charles and Michael Duard Stroud. Larry worked in law enforcement and the oil field for most of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Duard and Dorothy Stroud, his sister, Sandra Bass and his son, Rob.

Larry is survived by his wife of 50 years, Nancy Stroud of Throckmorton; 2 sons, Charlie Stroud of Graham and Buddy Stroud of Throckmorton; a sister, Lana Jo Lacey of Houston; 4 grandchildren, Chelsea, Mikaela, Bodie and Marlee; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m., at Smith Family Funeral Home in Throckmorton.
