Maggie Bee Harper, 94, of Seymour, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, January 11, 2014.
Services will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at 2:00 p.m., at the First Christian Church in Seymour with Jeff Sedberry, officiating. Burial will be in the Benjamin Cemetery, Benjamin, Texas, under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.
Maggie Bee was born November 10, 1919 in Rhineland to Lance Owen and Bessie Shipley Mayberry. She was the last surviving girl from a family of 12 children, 7 boys and 5 girls. She married Richard "Dick" Harper on October 1, 1943 in San Antonio. He passed away February 10, 2012. The couple moved to Seymour from Lockett in 1997. Maggie Bee worked as a beautician and was a homemaker. She was a Baptist. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Herbert Milton (Jake) Propps. Everyone always gathered for Bee's cooking, where she entertained with her quick wit, always joking and making people laugh. She enjoyed dancing and fishing, alongside her husband, Dick. Bee's most important role, however, was as mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her 2 daughters, Judy Bland and husband, Bill and Dickie Propps and husband, Herbert, all of Seymour; a brother, Bobby Joe Mayberry of Paducah; 3 grandchildren, Lisa Johnson, Billy Richard Bland and James Propps; 7 great grandchildren and
3 great great grandchildren
