Odessa (Carmack) Adkisson

Odessa Adkisson, 100 of Seymour, passed away on Thursday, October 7, 2021 in Seymour.

Graveside services will be held on Sunday, October 10, 2021 with Larry Webb and Danny Todd Copeland officiating in the Vera Cemetery under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.

Odessa was born June 3, 1921 in Comanche, Texas to Charles W. and Jessie L. Decker Carmack.  She was a 1940 graduate of O’Brien High School.  She married James Adkisson on July 6, 1940 in O’Brien.  Odessa was a Vera resident for 26 years before coming to Seymour.  She was raised in the Baptist Church and was active in her church for most of her life.  Her heart of gold, quick wit and immeasurable love for her family will be deeply missed.  Odessa was preceded in death by her husband, James Adkisson in May of 2002 and her daughter, Juaniece Allen in July of 2014.

She is survived by a daughter, Gloria Webb of Seymour; 5 grandchildren, Teresa Copeland, Danny Todd Copeland, Tammy Copeland Stephens, Larry Webb and Laurie Webb Jones; 9 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home.
