Pat (Wirz) Mooney

Patricia “Pat” Wirz Mooney, 77 of Seymour, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2022 in Seymour.

Services will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at 1:30 p.m., at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Derrell Patterson officiating.  Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.

Pat was born on July 27, 1944 in Seymour to G.C. and Vera Glaze Wirz.  She was a 1962 graduate of Seymour High School and attended North Texas State for a couple of years.  Pat married Don Mooney on April 3, 1964 in Seymour.  She worked for the Texas A&M Experimental Ranch Station for a few years before going to work for Bunkley and Jones Insurance in the early 1970’s, retiring in 2016.  Pat was active with the Seymour Ex-Students Association and the Seymour Art Group.  She was also a member of the Seymour Cemetery Association and the 3rd Saturday Bridge Club.

She is survived by her husband, Don Mooney of Seymour; 2 sons, Sam Mooney of Seymour and Chris and Becky Mooney of Burkburnett; a sister, Betty Patterson of Seymour; 5 grandchildren, Hannah Mooney, Stephanie Harrington, Garrett Mooney, Caleb Mooney and Seth Mooney and 3 great grandchildren, Sara, Isaiah and Ahna.

Visitation will be from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
