Peggy Ruth Turner, 89 of Seymour, passed from this life on Friday, August 30, 2024 in Seymour.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the Masonic Cemetery with Rev. Derrell Patterson and Rev. Jay Gage officiating, under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.
Peggy was born on June 22, 1935 in Moran, Texas to Victor and Georgie Mae Ameson Jones. She attended school in Pampa. Peggy married James C. Turner on June 11, 1955 in Pampa. He preceded her in death on February 8, 2019. She worked at the Russell Newman Factory in Seymour, as a caregiver for the elderly, as a cook at the Seymour Meals on Wheels, but her most important “job” was as a mother. She was a great homemaker and was an amazing cook. Peggy loved going to garage sales and the casino, not necessarily in that order. Peggy was known as Grouchy to her grandchildren and great grandchildren and enjoyed attending as many of their activities as she could. She was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Georgie Mae Jones; 4 sisters, Christine Malaska, Barbara Bingham, Rhonda Elliott and Shirley Jones and a brother, Victor Jones.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Kay Moline and husband, Kenneth and Debbie Turner; a son, Jerry Turner; a sister, Betty Petty; a brother, Andy Jones; 2 grandchildren, Kourtney Kouns and husband, Josh and Klifton Moline and wife, Jenni Moline and 4 great grandchildren, Jackson, Blake and Dawson Moline and Grady Kouns.
Visitation will be from 6:30 until 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
