Ricky Don Wright

August 10, 1954 — May 21, 2024

Seymour

Ricky Don Wright passed from his mortal life on May 21, 2024, to begin his immortal life with the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 24, 2024 at 10:00 a.m., at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Bose Jujuvarapu and Deacon Jim Novak officiating.  A committal service will follow in the Bomarton Cemetery under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.

Ricky was born to J.C. and Dot Massey Wright on August 10, 1954, in Seymour, Texas, where he continued to live his entire life. He attended Seymour schools and graduated from Seymour High School in 1972. After high school, he worked in the oilfield for a while before following in his parents’ footsteps to become a farmer. Ricky partnered with his brother Gary to start their farming operation in Red Springs. He continued to farm until this past year, when illness prevented him from continuing. In addition to farming, Ricky worked for thirty-seven years maintaining the county roads for Baylor County Precinct 1.

Ricky married his high school sweetheart, Charlotte Harris on September 28, 1974. They enjoyed almost fifty years of married life and together had two sons, Michael, and Cody.

Ricky was a mostly quiet man except when he was playing pranks on people or doing something to scare them. He had a fun sense of humor. He loved traveling and was willing to go anywhere at any time. If someone suggested going someplace, he was ready. He enjoyed going camping, fishing, and hunting. He liked to ride UTVs in the mountains and go on cruises. Not everyone heard him, but he also loved to sing old songs. Ricky was meticulous about his equipment; he kept his cars, trucks, motorcycle, and camper in pristine condition.

Ricky loved his faith, his family, his dogs, and his friends. Everyone who knew him liked him, and he will be missed greatly.

He was preceded in death by his parents JC and Dot (Doris Massey) Wright, and his sister Debbie Sosolik.

He is survived by his wife Charlotte Wright; 2 sons, Michael (Angela) Wright and Cody (Audra) Wright; 4 grandsons, Carter, Grant, Lyndon, and Harris Wright; 2 brothers, Joe Pat (Barbara) Wright and Gary (Vickie) Wright; a sister, Nancy (Jack) Robertson and a brother-in-law Bobby Sosolik

Visitation will be from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m., Thursday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
