Shane Jones

It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of Robert “Shane” Jones, age 63 of Lake Kemp, Seymour, Texas on March 24, 2025. He was surrounded by loved ones. He was met at the fishing hole by his faithful companions Chance & Bella. I am sure his father is also there & a little hell raising is going on. He was born on Sept 22, 1961 in Lockney, Texas to Jimmye & Ginny Jones. Shane was preceded in death by his father along with several Aunts and Uncles.

Shane was a proud Seymour native and graduated in 1980 from Seymour High School. Shane worked hard from a young age for various people and places in Seymour including Donald Gayle Coltharp and Bayco’s. He was a journeyman electrician at Cryovac for many years then went on to work for the State of Texas where he retired after almost 20 years.

Shane met the love of his life, Dana, in 2008. They married in Red River, NM on August 14, 2020. They built a wonderful life together filled with love and laughter. There was never a dull moment in the house with Shane around.

Surviving Shane is his wife Dana of Lake Kemp, Seymour; son Rusty of Seymour; grandson Kobi of Seymour; granddaughter Kahlan of Lubbock; mother Ginny of Lake Kickapoo; brother Jim 2 and wife Sherry of Wichita Falls; nephew Brandy of Wichita Falls; Uncle Joe and wife Pat of Lake Brownwood; Uncle Tony and wife Cecelia of Bangs; and Aunt Polly of Fort Worth along with multiple cousins and friends. Faithful companions Luna and Zane are grieving him.

Shane was raised with a love of the outdoors. Lake Kemp and Red River, NM were his happy places. His love of family was evident with his grandchildren Kobi and Kahlan. The day they were born his heart burst with pride and love.

Shane will be deeply missed by his family along with all that knew him. Cremation is being handled by Archer Funeral Home, Seymour, Texas. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2025 from 1 pm to 4 pm at the Rusty Spur Steakhouse where food will be served, 600 S Main Street, Seymour, Texas.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Texas Pit Crew in Wichita Falls, Texas, or a charity of your choice. Love honestly & deeply.
