Robert Mayes

Robert Mayes, 54, of Seymour passed away Sunday, November 26, 2017 in Seymour.

Services will be held Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church with Jessie Moore officiating. Burial will be in the Old Seymour Cemetery under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.

Robert was born December 12, 1962 in Knox County to Jimmy Mayes and Idell Mitchell. He was a graduate of Goree High School. Robert worked any job he could find from mowing yards to cooking in restaurants. He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Mayes and 2 sisters, Arlene Johnson and Connie Marie Fobbs.

He is survived by his wife, Lolita Mayes of Wichita Falls; 2 sons, Kory Hardeman of Huntsville and Timothy Hardeman of Goree; his mother, Idell Mitchell of Seymour; 3 sisters, Georgia McKinney of Seymour, Susan Johnson of Chicago and Brenda Johnson of Lawton, Oklahoma; a brother, Elijah Mitchell of Seymour and 5 grandchildren.
