Robert Farrell Patterson, 87, of Seymour, Texas, died on Saturday, December 21, 2019 in Seymour.

Services will be held Monday, December 23, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Seymour, TX with Rev. Derrell Patterson and Rev. Ryan Ford officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.

Robert was born March 10, 1932 in Seymour, Texas to Clifton and Mozelle Harris Patterson. He started school in Arizona and graduated from Seymour High School in 1949. He married Betty Wirz on July 27, 1949 in Vernon, TX. Robert worked in road construction, farming and in gas stations. He spent most of his working life managing the M-System grocery store in Seymour, which later became Lawrence Brothers. He worked with many employees and touched many lives. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Seymour Lion's Club, and was instrumental in starting the Seymour monthly Jamboree. He was also passionate about the Whiteside Museum of Natural History and all things related to Seymour. He was an avid John Deere collector; he had "tractor fever"! He was also passionate about music and helping all people. He loved farming and working with his cattle.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton and Mozelle Patterson, and two sisters, Betty Bellinghausen and Jerry Honeycutt, one daughter, Donna Adams, and one grandson, Justin Lester.

He is survived by his wife, Betty, four children, Bobbie Lester (Bill), Debbie Welborn (Jamie), Derrell Patterson (Sandy), and Judy Patterson (Chris); a son-in-law, Jim Adams; 9 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, and a very large extended family. He is also survived by 3 sisters, Peggy Moore (John), Nancy Reynolds (Gerald), Mary Bell, and 1 brother, Charles Patterson (Glynda).

Visitation will be Sunday, December 22nd from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Archer Funeral Home.
