Steve Eddleman of Seymour, Texas passed away in Wichita Falls, Texas on Monday, September 13, 2021 at 3:57 a.m.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 19,2021 starting at 1:00 p.m., at the Long Branch Road House in Seymour. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.
Steve was known for his strong work ethic and could usually be found on his backhoe working on projects around town. From a young age, he drove trucks and went on to work for many people throughout the years before establishing Eddleman Backhoe in 1991. Steve was quite the jokester and was known mostly for his ornery nature. He never ran out of ways to give people a hard time and make them laugh; not many people ever left his presence without a smile on their face and little extra joy in their hearts (a few may have had a bruised ego too). Steve left a lasting impression on many people’s lives throughout his 76 years. He married Janie Pruett on December 10, 1987 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The big mystery to everyone is how he talked her into marrying him when they had already been together for 8 years and were living together. But, talk her into it he did. The couple were together for 42 years and married for 34. The general consensus is that Janie took pity on him and the she is a saint (mostly a saint). Steve’s beloved son, Todd preceded him in death on November 30, 2018. Todd was his father made over in so many ways. Steve’s big personality and even bigger heart will be missed by all.
He is survived by his wife and his reason, Janie Eddleman; a daughter, Allison; a daughter-in-law, Kim; 4 grandchildren and his Shih Tzu, Hoss (who Steve pretended not to like in the beginning).
