Suzie (Swindell) Hembree

Suzie Hembree, 47 of Seymour, passed away Friday, October 1, 2021 in Amarillo.

Services will be held on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church with Dr. David Warren officiating.  Burial will follow in the Masonic Cemetery under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.

Suzie was born September 24, 1974 in Seymour to James (Jim) Fredrich and Carol Sue Blewett Swindell.  She was a 1993 graduate of Seymour High School and received a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Midwestern State University.  Suzie married Dalton Hembree on January 18, 1997 in Seymour.  Together, the couple had 2 daughters, Kiley (23) and Paige (18).  Suzie worked as an auditor for the Texas Comptrollers Office for 8 years, before beginning her career at Phillips 66 at both Bartlesville, Oklahoma and Borger, Texas.  She worked there for 8 years as an FP & A Analyst.

Suzie enjoyed visiting Disney World with her family, going on cruises, camping with friends and supporting her husband and children in every way she could.  To know Suzie was to love her.  She had a smile that was contagious and will be remembered as a kind, sweet and hardworking lady that would do anything for her friends and family.  Suzie had a sweet soul that loved everyone she met.  She was preceded in death by her father, Jim Swindell.

She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Dalton Hembree; 2 daughters, Kiley Hembree and Paige Hembree; her mother, Carol Swindell; 2 brothers, Jimmy Swindell and Scooter Swindell; and many nieces and nephews that she adored.

Visitation will be from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.
