Teresa Ann Copeland, a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, great-aunt, friend, and a devout servant of her church, passed away on February 3, 2025. Her life was a testament to the power of love, faith, and the joy found in simple pleasures.
Born in Knox City, Texas on March 8, 1961 to Daniel and Juaniece Copeland and later joining her life, her loving stepfather, John Allen. Teresa’s life was shaped by the close-knit community of Seymour, Texas. She graduated from Seymour High School in 1979, where she formed lifelong friendships and cultivated a deep appreciation for her hometown. She continued her education at Tarleton State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree.
Teresa’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. She was a devout member of the First Baptist Church of Seymour, where she actively participated in services and was active with the youth. Her church family and Angel Heart reunion group was a source of strength and inspiration, and she cherished the bonds she shared with each of them.
Teresa’s love extended beyond her church to her many friends, who will remember her for her warm smile, kind heart, and unwavering loyalty. She had a special place in her heart for animals, especially dogs, and was a loving and compassionate companion to them throughout her life, including her current dog, Chili. Teresa was a cherished aunt and great aunt, showering her nieces and nephews with love and affection. She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will never be forgotten. She will be deeply missed by her family, her church family, her many friends and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel Copeland and Juaniece Adkisson Copeland Allen; step-father, John Allen; her grandparents, JH and Odessa Adkisson and Willis and Bertha Copeland.
She is survived by her brother, Danny and Shelly Copeland of Brownwood; sister, Tammie Stephens of Merkel; nieces and nephews, Derek and Julia Copeland, Lance Copeland, Kelcy and Parker Sullivan; Kelby and Tryce Pape and Brady Stephens and numerous great nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of her Life will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Seymour with Dr. David Warren officiating. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery under the direction of Archer Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials in Teresa’s memory be sent to the First Baptist Church in Seymour, Texas.
